ABOUT THE COLLEGE

Bir Lachit Borphukan College, Namtial Pathar , P.O. & Dist. : Sivasagar, Assam -785640, popularly known as BLB College, was established in 1981. The geographical position, the socio-economic condition, Cultural and historic background of the place have paved the way for the growth of the college. The College has contributed significantly to the academic and cultural life of Sivasagar District and its periphery. Now, it has marched a long way since the inception to withstand the test of time.

With a heritage of selfless service and benevolent efforts of a few generous people and organisations of Sivasagar and its neighbouring areas, the college has been able to attain the present position. It was only in 2013 and 2021, the Assam State Government has provincialized the posts of some staff (Teaching & Non-teaching). The present day college has an infrastructure built on a sprawling area of about 5.5 acre. A full-fledged Internal Quality Assurance Cell has also been established to look after the internal quality of the institution. The In–House Committees/ Cells have been functioning in letter and spirit for the holistic development of the students and the college as a whole. Thus, the institution is on its way for the fulfilment of vision and strategic plans.
